Cheap & unique Mother’s Day gifts she will LOVE

By Anushka F
You don’t need to spend a fortune to make Mum smile this Mother’s Day! Check out my cheap yet unique gift ideas…

1. Bake these delicious Strawberry Rice Krispies treats

Nothing says ‘effort’ quite like a baked treat. If you’ve got kids, these easy-to-make treats are child friendly and make a quick family project. The pretty pink colour and sprinkles are pleasing on the eye and they taste AMAZING. Check out Colleen’s own recipe and make these Strawberry Rice Krispies treats today.

2. Make some DIY hand warmers

I want some!
If she’s always feeling the cold or enjoys walks with the dog, these DIY hand warmers will come in handy. Pretty and practical, but you don’t have to be super handy with a needle either. For instructions and more inspiration, read Colleen’s blog post on homemade Christmas gifts, they all make perfect Mother’s Day gifts too.

3. Give her an internet or social media lesson

Sometimes time counts for a lot more than gifts. If your mum wants to learn how to use Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram or any other website (maybe eBay?) spend the day setting up an account and guiding her through how to use them. Write down step-by-step instructions in a new notebook and make sure she’s confident with her new skills.

4. Replace a card with a handwritten letter

Doodles optional.
Mother’s Day cards are lovely, but why not go the extra mile with a thoughtfully penned letter instead? It can include anything you like, from memorable or funny stories to reasons why you’re thankful for having such a fab Mum. Unless she’s not a fan of overly sentimental gifts, I’m sure she’ll love the thought put into this.
